A New Way to Pray the Lord’s Prayer

Resources:

  • Pens
  • Big Sheets of paper- 1 per table
  • The Lord’s Prayer in the sections 6 below on Powerpoint slides
  • The Lord’s Prayer in full on a Powerpoint slide

Instructions:

Say that we are going to pray the Lord’s prayer and think about the meaning of the different parts of it. Ask the congregation to say that words in bold. Ask them then to write down after each section any words or prayers that come to mind about the theme. Children can either write or they can draw pictures about who or what they would like to pray for.

Give us today our daily bread,

Slide 4:

And forgive us our sins,

as we forgive those who sin against us.

but deliver us from evil.
