Into the Ark

The Lifetime congregation from St Paul’s Church in Penketh, Warrington have been working hard to knit and craft lots of pairs of small creatures. After working together to come up with creative ways to get out into their community, despite lock-down protocols, an idea came about for a way that members of their mixed age congregation could knit and craft together, while apart, for a common purpose.

So what are all these animals for? Well, they are being made in preparation for an event which will be held at a future date, possibly around Easter, called ‘Into the Ark’. This event will be based upon the well-loved biblical story of Noah’s Ark and will be held at St Paul’s church in Penketh. At this event, members of the local community will be taken on a journey around the church grounds and inside the church building, which will represent our journey from God’s invitation to faith – to our acceptance. Along the way, there will be stops for: games, craft, snacks, stories, music, and more.

If anyone would like to help out with knitting or crafting pairs of animals for this event, please contact Joy Holmes at stevejoyholmes@btinternet.com or Marilyn Layfield at marilynlayfield@btinternet.com. Your contributions would be welcomed. Wool and craft materials can be supplied if required.
