Facebook – The Wall

This station follows the talk “Friend Of God

Items needed:

  • A few sheets of flip chart paper/banqueting roll.
  • Pens/Felt tips
  • Bible Verses
  • Printed facebook logo
  • Lots of printed Facebook “like” icons (google “Facebook like icon” to find one!)
  • Blu-tac

Overview:

This station is adaptable to whatever your talk is about. You’ll need to cover a bit of wall or a table in paper and pens/felt tips to write with (If you’re writing on a wall be careful the pens don’t mark the wall through the paper.).

On Facebook you can write messages on the wall of a friend. For this station you need to stick the Facebook logo at the top of the page and write “Your Church’s Wall” at the top (For example here at Zone2 we wrote “Zone2’s Wall”!).

On this wall go some of the things that God has written to us in the bible.
We were looking at what it means to be a friend of God so our verse were all related to that topic but you could use verses on any topic whatsoever (God’s love for us, forgiveness, grace, mercy etc etc).

Print the verses and stick them to the wall starting with the words “God says:…” or write them on. Leave plenty of space around the verses.

Print the following instructions:

This is the “Your Church Name Here Facebook Wall” and it already contains some of the messages that God has given to us. Spend some time reading the messages. If one or two particularly strike you why not “like” them by sticking a “like” button to the wall next to them.

You might also want to respond to some of the messages by writing a short prayer in the form of a “comment” next to it.

Bible verses:

As we mentioned earlier this station is easily adaptable to whatever topic you choose but here are a few of the verses that we chose when we were looking at the benefits of being a friend of God:

“I’ve told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I’m no longer calling you servants because servants don’t understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I’ve named you friends because I’ve let you in on everything I’ve heard from the Father.

John 15:11-15 (MSG)

“Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you” Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)

A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.
John 10:10 (MSG)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
