Impossible Prayers

Items needed:

  • Paper
  • Pens
  • Printed instructions

Overview:

This station is really simple but probably works better for adults and older teenagers.

Set out a table with a bowl or basket in the centre and put out plenty of small pieces of paper (A6 or smaller) and pens for people to write with.

Print or write out the following text:

“The bible is full of examples of people who prayed in situations that seemed impossible. Hannah wasn’t able to have a baby, having tried for many years. She prayed and God gave her a child, named Samuel. This passage can be found in 1 Samuel 1:9-28 or you could use a similar passage where someone prayed for the impossible.

What situations do you face that seem impossible? Write or draw your prayers on the piece of paper provided and fold the paper in half. Place your prayer in the basket alongside everyone else’s as a sign up giving that prayer to God.”
