Resources Needed:
- Mirror Colouring Pages – Google “Mirror Coloring sheets” as the American spelling produces more results.
- A large mirror
- Felt tip pens/Coloured Pencils
Instructions:
This week we heard that Jesus wants his followers not just to listen to him but to put the words that we hear into action.
James 1:22-24 says this:
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
Are we sometimes like the person that James describes; hearing God’s word but failing to put it into practice?
How can we make sure that we become people who do rather than just hear?
Inside the mirror frame draw a self portrait, using the mirror if you need help! Around the mirror write a prayer asking God to help you to not be like the person James talks about but to be someone who will listen and do, putting into practice the things that you hear him say.
Keep the portrait somewhere where it will remind you to take action!
