Mirrors

Items Needed:

  • Mirrors. This can be done with a large standing mirror. Or a number of small mirrors, even blank CDs work well.
  • Mipeable felt tips
  • Wet wipes or cloths

Script:

Take a good, long look at your reflection. You will probably notice all your minor imperfections, the lines you don’t want or maybe your tired eyes.

Think about the inner blemishes behind the reflection. The dark corners within.

If you wish to, write words or symbols on the mirror to confess those inner blemishes.

Now look in the mirror again. Look through the words you have written. Bring your confession to God. Dare to step into His light and be more fully known.

‘Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love;
According to your great compassion blot out my wrongs.
Wash away my troubles and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my wrong doing and my sins are always before me.’ (Psalm 51: 1-3)

When you are ready, take the cloth and, as an act of faith in God’s promise of forgiveness, wipe off the writing on the mirror and see yourself without the blemishes.

‘If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins…’ (1 John 1:9)
