Touching Jesus – Without Shame

This station follows the talk “Touching Jesus

Overview:

If you are not using that passage in your service (or even if you are) it might be worth printing out the story in a translation that people will find easy to understand (The Message, New Living Translation or the Contemporary English Version for example). The whole passage can be found in Mark 5:24-33

Instructions to print:

The woman was “unclean”, left out and ashamed.
She thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”

We can feel unclean and ashamed. Jesus invites us to come to him and be made new. The bible calls it being “born again”, given a new start, made as innocent as a newborn baby.

Offer to Jesus anything you feel ashamed of.

As a symbol of his gift of new life you could rub a little baby lotion into your hands.

Resources needed:

  • Baby Lotion
  • Paper towels (just in case people apply a little too much!)
