Printed copies of Psalm 23 – The NLT and MSG versions are great. The Street Bible by Rob Lacey also has an wonderful example of a contemporary version of the psalm.
Instructions:
Psalm 23 was written at a time when people were familiar with shepherds and the way a shepherd lived.
Read the Psalm in a couple of the translations available. How are they similar?
What different aspects of God do they draw out?
If Psalm 23 was being written today what would it’s theme be?
Spend some time rewriting the psalm in terms that you think might be used today.
