Overview:
For many years Christians have lit candles as a sign of offering their prayers to God. Cover a table top with tinfoil and have a basket of tea-light candles ready to be lit.
Print out images and words that will help people to think about any situations you would like people to pray about and stick them to the wall behind your table. Encourage the congregation to pick a few items to pray for or to add some of their own and then to light a candle, asking God to bring his light into that particular situation.
Provide post-it notes and pens for people to write their own prayers on. Once they have written the prayers stick them to the wall around the table.
Draw everything together with a prayer at the end.
