Generous Resolutions [2/7]

In this second in our seven-part blog series on the theme of generosity, the focus is again on Simon Peter’s encounters with the generosity of Jesus.

So, whether you lead others, or are simply looking for some inspiration at the start of this New Year, I hope these reflections will inspire you to cultivate a more generous lifestyle, as you follow Jesus, too…

As Peter listened to Jesus speaking to the crowds, telling his Parables, he no doubt learned invaluable lessons which helped him in his future career.  Jesus expressed how much we are valued by Him, and how much we should value others, when He said “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from at your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10.29-31).

I have no doubt that the ability to trust God more, worry less, and value people as beings created by God was essential to Peter in his role as an Apostle to those of the Jewish faith and as one of the founding ‘pillars’ of this branch of Christianity.

This New Year – Are you trusting in God to take care of you? Do you see the value in other people as much as He does?
